The Edgefield County Water & Sewer Authority was created as a Special Purpose District with a mission to acquire supplies of fresh water, capable of being used for industrial and domestic purposes, and to distribute such water in an orderly manner for industrial and domestic use within its service area.
Pursuant to the Act, a seven (7) member Board of Directors governs the Authority. Each Board Member serves a term of six (6) years. Members are appointed by the Governor.
The Authority is managed by the Administrator who in turn is responsible to the Board of Directors. The Authority currently has forty two (42) full time employees.
Edgefield County Water & Sewer Authority receives No Direct funds from taxes. The Authority’s operations are funded entirely by water and sewer revenues.
